New York State Parks Pet Policy: Pets are allowed in most New York State Parks, but must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Proof of rabies inoculation shall be produced if requested by staff. Some parks allow dogs only. Pets are not permitted in playgrounds, buildings, golf courses, boardwalks, pools and spray-grounds or guarded beaches. Pets are not allowed at Rockland Lake State Park from May to September; from October to April 30th pets are allowed in the park, however not on the 3.2 mile Bike Path. At Watkins Glen State Park, pets are not allowed on the Gorge Trail. Please visit the individual park page and find the pet policy listed toward the bottom of the Park Description.
