Dog Friendly Beaches in Canada

Find dog friendly beaches, including off-leash dog beaches, and dog swim areas in Canada.

Finding a dog beach in Canada is easy with our province-by-province listings of beaches that welcome dogs, on leash and off leash. Most provincial parks allow dogs/pets on a leash at all times but they are not allowed at beaches with defined swim areas. Designated off-leash dog beaches and swim areas have been established at select provincial parks in British Columbia, Manitoba, and Ontario.

Dog-Friendly Provincial Parks in British Columbia
Some provincial parks offer special designated off-leash or swimming areas for your dog. Visit the park webpage and look under the “Pets on Leash” symbol to learn more about where these special pet areas are located.

Dogs and Pets in Ontario Parks
All Ontario Parks are pet friendly; dogs must be on a leash no longer than 2 m (6 feet) in length at all times unless in a designated off-leash area. Dogs are not allowed on beaches and swimming areas, but many parks feature designated canine beach and exercise areas.

Dog Friendly Swim Areas in Manitoba
Animals are not allowed at designated beaches with defined swim areas. However, dogs do enjoy going for a dip, so pet-friendly swim areas in provincial parks have been designated for this purpose.
