Maine State Parks Pet Policy: Pets on a leash are allowed in Maine State Parks. Pets are not permitted on state park beaches from April 1st through September 30th; pets are allowed on beaches, provided they are leashed, from October 1st through March 31st. Pets are not allowed at Sebago Lake State Park campground. All other campgrounds allow leashed pets. Pet owners may be assigned picnic or campsites in a less congested area of the park. Horses are allowed on coastal beaches October 1st through March 31st. Popham Beach requires a Horse Beach Permit. Horses are not allowed on coastal beaches April 1st through September 30th. Horseback Riding locations at State Parks: Androscoggin Riverlands; Bradbury Mountain – Pineland Connector Trail; Camden Hills – on multi-use trails; and Mount Blue.
