Located at 1 Buchanan Street Albany, CA 94706, the Albany Bulb is a park at the west end of a landfill peninsula jutting west from the east shore of San Francisco Bay. It can be reached via Buchanan Street or the Bay Trail along the east side of San Francisco Bay. The Bulb was previously a construction debris landfill site until operations were ceased in 1984. The site is currently owned by the City of Albany and is open to the public for recreational use. East Bay Regional Parks serves as an agent of the State Parks system to manage adjoining areas of the waterfront. The City owned portion of the Albany waterfront is designated to be part of the Eastshore State Park. Dogs are allowed off-leash on the Albany Bulb and waterfront, also known as Buchanan Dog Beach.
