At Carlsbad Caverns National Park, pets on a leash no longer than 6 feet are welcome on the paved nature trail, on roads, and at the Rattlesnake Springs picnic area. Pets not allowed in the cavern, on unpaved park trails on the surface, off road, during the Bat Flight Program, or in the visitor center. The park concessioner, Carlsbad Caverns Trading Company, operates a kennel service where, for a $10/day fee, you may leave your pet in a temperature controlled environment while you tour the cave. The kennel is for day use only – no overnight stays. Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet when outside your vehicle.
