Located in the Rocky Mountains and straddling the continental divide in the Front Range west of Denver, Arapaho & Roosevelt National Forests include part of the high Rockies and river valleys in the upper watershed of the Colorado River and South Platte River. Pets on a leash no longer than six feet are allowed in most of the wilderness areas and must be restrained or on a leash at all times while in developed recreation areas. Pets are not allowed in swimming areas.
