San Francisco Bay Ferry is a passenger ferry service on the San Francisco Bay, California, serving communities throughout the area with routes connecting San Francisco to Oakland, Alameda, Harbor Bay and Vallejo and a route connecting South San Francisco to Alameda and Oakland. All routes offer weekday commute service. Pets — including comfort animals and emotional support animals — can only be brought aboard the ferry if they are within an enclosed pet carrier that can fit on your lap and they do not pose a threat to passengers or crew members. Trained service animals or service animals in training may be brought aboard provided they remain under the passenger’s control and do not pose a threat to passengers or crew members. Large pets on a leash are not permitted on the ferry.
