White Mountain National Forest Campgrounds offer a variety of camping experiences: from family-friendly developed campgrounds, to popular backcountry sites, to the solitude of a wilderness setting. Some sites may be reserved; others are available on a first-come, first-served basis. All reservations for a campground must be arranged on Recreation.gov or by calling (877) 444-6777, the National Recreation Reservation Service. A couple of campgrounds are open year-round. These are plowed for access, but do not have any services found in summer. Dogs are allowed in the campgrounds; they must be on leash in the developed areas of the forest (campgrounds, trail heads, picnic areas, etc.).
