Iowa State Park Campgrounds range from hike-in primitive sites to full hook-ups (sewer, water and electricity). Most of these campsites can be reserved up to 3 months in advance. Camping is available year-round in most places depending upon weather conditions, and is permitted only in designated areas. Some parks have designated equestrian campgrounds. Pets on a leash no longer than 6 feet are allowed in the campgrounds, but must not be left unattended.
