Sauvie Island is located approximately 10 miles northwest of downtown Portland, between the Columbia River to the east, the Multnomah Channel to the west, and the Willamette River to the south. It is the largest island along the Columbia River. A large portion of the island is designated as the Sauvie Island Wildlife Area. Reeder, North Unit, Walton, Collins and Warrior Point public beaches are located along the island’s north/east coast (Columbia River). Dogs are allowed on all public beaches if they are leashed.
