OFF-LEASH DOG BEACH. Part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Crissy Field Beach features iconic views of the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge. At the Airfield, East and Central Beaches, and Promenade dogs are allowed on-leash or off-leash. At the Crissy Field Wildlife Protection Area (WPA) dogs must be restrained on a leash no longer than 6 feet starting July 1 and ending May 15. Dog walking restricted to on-leash only in the area encompassing the shoreline and beach north of the Crissy Field Promenade (excluding the paved parking area, sidewalks and grass lawn of the former Coast Guard Station complex) that stretches east from the Torpedo Wharf to approximately 700 feet east of the former Coast Guard station, and all tidelands and submerged lands to 100 yards offshore. Dogs are also allowed off-leash at the East Crissy Lawn area, south of, but not including, secondary parking areas to Mason St. Pets must be on leash in all parking lots and picnic areas, and may not be left unattended.
