The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area Beach is located on the Oregon Coast, extending approximately 40 miles north of the Coos River in North Bend to the Siuslaw River in Florence, and adjoining Honeyman State Park on the west. It is part of Siuslaw National Forest. The South Jetty area provides day use access to the beach and dunes, with separate areas for off-highway vehicle (OHV) use and non-motorized use. Walkers and hikers can enjoy miles of open beach and explore dune formations above the Siltcoos River. The area has six beach access points that provide access to the beach. Dogs on a leash are allowed on the beach. During snowy plover nesting season (March 15-September 15), beach access is limited to protect snowy plovers.
