Joseph Sylvia State Beach is a barrier beach located on Martha’s Vineyard in the towns of Edgartown & Oak Bluffs, along the Nantucket Sound shoreline and Sengekontacket Pond. There is a gradual slope into deeper water and the waves are usually small. Dog and pet restrictions are as follows:
April 1st – August 31st – Dogs strictly prohibited (nesting season).
September – Dogs prohibited between 9am to 5pm.
October 1st – March 31st – Dogs on leash allowed at any time.
