Martha’s Vineyard Beaches include town beaches; county beaches (Norton Point Beach, Eastville Point Beach); state beaches (Joseph Sylvia State Beach); Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank Commission beaches; and The Trustees of Reservations beaches. There are numerous public beaches, but not all beaches are open to the public. Some require permits issued through town halls to residents and visitors of specific towns. The majority of beaches do not allow dogs during the summer, only during the off-season, and many of the beaches that are open to the public have strict guidelines for dogs – please check local town ordinances for dogs on the beach policies.
