Part of the greater Pawleys Island region of the Grand Strand, Litchfield Beach is just north of Pawleys Island and south of Murrells Inlet along U.S. Highway 17. Dogs are allowed on the beach all the time, but must be leashed from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. year-round. For other times, dogs may be off-leash if they are trained for voice command. From April 15th to October 31st, dogs are not allowed after 10 p.m until one hour before sunrise. From November 1st to April 14th, the prohibited period starts at 8 PM until one hour before sunrise.
