OFF-LEASH DOG BEACH. Located at 8800 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931, Dog Beach (Fort Myers Beach) is a small stretch of beach at the south end of Lovers Key just west of New Pass Bridge and north of Bonita Beach. Dogs are allowed off-leash on the beach. No freshwater or amenities are available. Open dawn to dusk. Parking is free. Doggie shower station is available to rinse your dog before leaving the park. Directions: From Fort Myers Beach just follow Estero Blvd south from the main island of Fort Myers Beach, and cross the bridge onto Lovers Key. The road will curve to the right, and you will cross another small bridge but still be on Lovers Key and the road will straighten out. Drive past the entrance to the State Park, and watch for a spot on the right just before the next bridge. There are usually a few cars parked off the side of the road, and there is a small sign. Park here, and walk down the path until you get to the beach. No other Lee County beaches allow off-leash dogs; and only the City of Sanibel and the Town of Fort Myers Beach allow dogs on the beach while on-leash.
