Dennis Town Beaches include North Side Beaches (Chapin Memorial; Mayflower; Corporation, Howes Street; Sea Street Beach, East Dennis; Scargo; and Princess) and South Side Beaches (West Dennis; South Village; Haigis; Glendon Road; Sea Street Beach, Dennisport; Raycroft; Depot Street; Inman Road; and Metcalf Memorial).
From the Friday of Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, dogs are not allowed on the beaches, in the parking areas, or in unattended vehicles in the parking areas at any time. The rest of the year dogs are welcome on the beaches as long as their owners respect the dog control bylaws in place for all public places in Dennis. No dog shall be allowed or permitted in any public place or street within the Town unless it is effectively restrained and controlled by a chain or other form of leash that is sufficient to hold the dog, or unless it is under the immediate and effective voice control of a handler, or unless it is within and confined to a motor vehicle.
At West Dennis Beach, no dogs or any animals will be allowed west of the middle bath house from April 1 through Labor Day.
Dogs are prohibited from beaches when active piping plover nests are present.
At Crowes Reservation Beach, dogs on a leash are allowed from mid September up until Memorial Day. Dogs are not permitted at all during the summer.
