San Diego International Airport (SAN) pet relief areas are located inside and outside the terminals. There are seven dedicated locations (fire hydrant, water fountain and artificial turf included) that are meant for use by your furry friend. Six of the areas are located outside the terminals and one is post-security in Terminal 2 West. The indoor, post-security animal relief area in Terminal 2 West is next to the human bathrooms between Gates 46 and 47. The amenities include fake grass, a red fire hydrant, poop bags, and even sinks for the humans to wash their hands. Pet relief areas are located throughout the airport outside of the terminals; one is between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. At the Commuter Terminal, go to the west end; the area is located outside the terminal entrance. Airlines have specific policies and fares for transporting pets.
