San Diego International Airport (SAN) pet relief areas are located inside and outside the terminals. SAN makes your pet’s potty break a breeze with state of the art pet relief accommodations. There are seven dedicated locations (fire hydrant, water fountain and artificial turf included) that are meant for use by your furry friend. Six of the areas are located outside the terminals and one is post-security in Terminal 2 West. The indoor, post-security animal relief area in Terminal 2 West is next to the human bathrooms between Gates 46 and 47. The amenities include fake grass, a red fire hydrant, poop bags, and even sinks for the humans to wash their hands. One is located outside between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. At the Commuter Terminal, go to the west end; the area is located outside the terminal entrance. All guides, pets, and service animals are welcome to use these areas while waiting for departure or upon arrival. At these locations make sure to scoop the poop using one of our complimentary bags and dispose of it in the bin. SAN pet relief areas aren’t only convenient, they are also environmentally friendly. Airlines have specific policies and fares for transporting pets. For the most accurate information, please contact the carriers directly.
