San Diego International Airport (SAN) pet relief areas are located inside and outside the terminals. There are seven dedicated locations (fire hydrant, water fountain and artificial turf included) that are meant for use by your furry friend. Six of the areas are located outside the terminals and one is post-security in Terminal 2. The indoor, post-security animal relief area in Terminal 2 is next to the human bathrooms between Gates 46 and 47. The amenities include fake grass, a red fire hydrant, poop bags, and even sinks for the humans to wash their hands. Pet relief areas are located throughout the airport outside of the terminals: Curbside at Terminal 1, passenger loading Zone A; Curbside along the breezeway between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at passenger loading Zone J; Eastern end of the Terminal 2 Ground Transportation Island; Western end of the Terminal 2 Ground Transportation Island; and Pedestrian entrance to Terminal 2 West (McCain) parking lot, across from passenger loading zone W. Airlines have specific policies and fares for transporting pets. For the most accurate information, please contact the carriers directly.
