The SAS-Scandinavian Airlines pet policy is as follows:
Starting on January 1, 2024, SAS will implement restrictions, concerning the transport of brachycephalic dogs —such as Bulldogs, Pugs, and Pekingese. Other snub-nosed dogs are accepted in the cargo hold.
Depending on the animals’ breed, size and weight they can travel as a carry-on, be checked in or transported with SAS Cargo.
Only small cats and dogs can accompany you in the cabin, except for in SAS Business where no pets/animals are allowed. Other pets/animals must travel in the cargo hold.
Service dogs, emotional support animals or other service animals, such as rescue dogs, travel for free in the cabin with SAS, when on active duty. You can bring one service animal per person.
Pets or animals are not permitted on charter flights with SAS.
During cold winter periods it’s not recommended to travel with your pet, this because on some aircraft is not equipped with ventilation or temperature control. It could on a cold days be minus degrees in the cargo hold. This applies to Airbus aircraft A320/A320neo/A321 and Boeing 737-600/700/800.
Taking a pet to a foreign country involves preparation and planning far in advance of your departure date. Requirements for pet travel to a foreign country are set by the destination country. If you are you traveling to another country and bringing along your pet you’ll need to meet the animal health requirements of the country you are visiting.
