Old Orchard Beach Town Beach includes seven miles of public beach consisting of all that land lying easterly of the line dividing the beach from the upland creating a public park along the beach. From May 15th to Labor Day of each year, dogs are only allowed on the beach before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. Dogs must be on a leash no longer than 12 feet from 5 p.m. to dusk. During the rest of the year dogs are allowed on the beach at any time. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, dogs are prohibited on the public ways and sidewalks of Old Orchard Street down to the beach (including “The Square”) from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. Dogs are never permitted on the pier or the boardwalk at any time. There is a dog park located in Memorial Park on First Street, across from the Chamber of Commerce and Train Station.
