Transport for Wales is a Welsh train operating company that manages rail services across Wales and West England. It runs urban and inter-urban passenger services to all railway stations in Wales. Passengers may bring dogs, cats and other small animals (maximum two per passenger) for free as long as they don’t endanger or inconvenience other customers or staff. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times unless contained in a basket. Dogs without leads must be carried in an enclosed basket, cage or pet carrier. It must be rigid and not open (to prevent escape) and the animal able to stand and lie down in comfort. Dogs must not occupy seats; otherwise a charge will be made.
Taking a pet to a foreign country involves preparation and planning far in advance of your departure date. Requirements for pet travel to a foreign country are set by the destination country. If you are you traveling to another country and bringing along your pet you’ll need to meet the animal health requirements of the country you are visiting.
