Missouri State Parks Pet Policy: Pets are allowed in Missouri State Parks, but must be kept on a leash no longer than 10 feet at all times. Pets are not allowed inside any state park or historic site building, or in public swimming areas and beaches. At Prairie State Park pets are not allowed on park trails. At Weston Bend State Park there is an off-leash dog park. Cabins for Canines program offers lodging units to people who want to travel and vacation with their dogs. The program includes units such as the Outpost cabins, camper cabins, yurts, single-unit cabins, fourplexes and duplexes. Approximately 30% of lodging units are available for owners with dogs, while the remaining units are canine free. Dogs are allowed only in the designated lodging units and cannot be taken into any other park building. Cabins for Canines locations include:
State-Operated Facilities
Big Lake State Park – Dogs are allowed in cabins 5 and 6 for an additional fee.
Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park – Dogs allowed in cabin 1, 5 or 6 (up to two dogs).
Lake of the Ozarks State Park – Dogs allowed in outpost cabin 2, 4 or 7 (up to two dogs).
Mark Twain State Park – Dogs allowed in cabin A or F (up to two dogs).
