CAT High-Speed Ferry travels between Portland, Maine and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia in just 3.5 hours. RVs, pickups, SUVs, cars, tour buses, motorcycles, and bicycles are welcome aboard The CAT—and walk-on passengers. Dogs and cats are permitted to travel on The CAT and can remain comfortably in their owner’s vehicle or in an onboard kennel. For safety reasons, pet owners are not permitted to visit pets during the voyage, therefore we ask that you ensure your furry friend has adequate food, water, and fresh air. Crew members monitor the vehicle deck during the voyage and will be sure to make pet owners aware of a distressed pet. Guests traveling with pets should call to notify the CAT so it can be notified on their reservation. Appropriate veterinarian-issued certificates are required and must be shown at check-in.
Taking a pet to the United States involves preparation and planning far in advance of your departure date. Health certificates may be required for entry into some states; you should check with officials in your state of destination prior to your travel date. Find info on bringing a pet into the U.S.
