San Bernardino National Forest Campgrounds offer an array of campsites in the eastern portion of the San Gabriel Mountains and the San Bernardino Mountains. The higher elevations of the forest mean that the summertime temperatures are cooler than the valleys below. Most campgrounds have shaded sites and some are near streams or lakes; many campgrounds are adjacent to beautiful natural areas. Some campgrounds are reserved campsites, and on weekends or holidays reservations are recommended. All campgrounds have picnic tables and restroom facilities, and some have showers and other amenities. Most campsites accommodate up to 6 people and 2 tents. Pets are allowed in the campgrounds, but must be leashed at all times.
