Located on the western slope of the Santa Lucia Mountains in California, Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park Campground has 189 RV and tent sites situated on or near the Big Sur River. Each campsite includes a parking area for at least one car, a fire pit and a picnic table. No hookups are provided at any site. Fresh water, hot showers and toilets are located throughout the campground. All campsites are on a reservation system; during peak season, the entire campground is usually reserved (booked 6 months in advance). Dogs on a leash no longer than 6 feet are allowed in the campground and in day use areas, and on the Warden’s Path and River Path. Dogs are also allowed on United States Forest Service (USFS) property, including Pfeiffer Beach.
