Located on Martha’s Vineyard on the Chappaquiddick side of Edgartown Harbor, adjacent to the Chappaquiddick ferry, Chappy Point Beach features seven hundred feet of beach at the neck of land where the Katama Bay and Edgartown Harbor wash into each other. The wash creates swift, scouring currents; swimmers will find that water becomes rather deep rather fast. The Edgartown lighthouse and the North Neck bluffs sit opposite the beach and the inlet is a parade of boats all summer long. Owned and managed by the Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank Commission. Dogs on a leash are allowed on the beach during the off-season, from September 1 – March 31.
