Located in New Hanover County about 15 miles south of Wilmington, Kure Beach Town Beach is situated on an island between Carolina Beach and Fort Fisher. The town has eight public beach accesses that allow free parking right at the point of entry to the dune crossovers. All dogs are required to be on a leash or restraint with lead line not to exceed 15’ in length. From April 1st through September 30th dogs on a leash are allowed on the beach within the Town’s jurisdictional limits 5 p.m. until 9 a.m. No dogs allowed during the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from April 1st through September 30th of each year. Dogs on a leash are allowed on the beach anytime from October 1st to March 31st.
