Carova Beaches, in Currituck County, are located in the northernmost community on the Outer Banks. Known for its pristine and undeveloped beaches which extend for 12 miles from the northern border of Corolla to the North Carolina / Virginia state Line, the beach can only be accessed by boat or by four-wheel drive vehicle. There are no paved roads connecting Carova to the town of Corolla, NC. Dogs are allowed on the beach and the 4WD areas, but should be kept on a leash due to vehicular traffic along the shoreline.
