Located at 208 Broadway, Barnegat Light, NJ 08006, Barnegat Lighthouse State Park is located on the northern end of Long Beach Island, a barrier island along the Atlantic Ocean coast of Ocean County, NJ. The park is also the site of Barnegat Lighthouse, regarded as one of the most crucial “change of course” points for coastal vessels. Directions: The park can be reached by taking the Garden State Parkway to exit 63. From Route 72 east, turn left onto Long Beach Blvd. and then left onto Broadway. The park entrance is on the right. Dogs on a leash no longer than 6 feet are allowed on the beach during the off-season, from September 16th to April 1st. Pets are not permitted on the beach from April 1st through September 15th to help protect endangered bird species during nesting season.
