Oakland International Airport (OAK) pet relief areas are located inside and outside the terminals. A post-security Service Animal Relief Area is located near Gate 25 in Terminal 2. The space includes a 100-sq. ft. ventilated room, featuring a full sink, cleaning tools, artificial turf, and a miniature fire hydrant. OAK’s Service Animal Relief Area was designed in partnership with Dogs for Diabetics (D4D), a local organization that pairs medical alert assistance dogs with insulin-dependent diabetics. In addition to the indoor relief area, there are two animal relief areas located just outside the terminals:
Terminal 1 – Between terminal and the Executive/Manager Parking Lot and adjacent to Terminal One on Airport Dr.
Between Terminals 1 and 2 – along the Hourly Parking Lot fence.
Terminal 2 (Southwest Airlines) – outside near the Southwest Airlines Baggage Claim adjacent to the Airport Media parking Lot Airport Dr.
Airlines have specific policies and fares for transporting pets. For the most accurate information, please contact the carriers directly.
