The El Al Airlines pet policy is as follows:
Animals (pets – only dogs, cats and exotic birds) weighing up to 8 kilos (including the carrier container) will be approved for carriage in the passenger cabin together with an accompanying passenger.
Pets weighing over 8 kilograms (including container) will be accepted for carriage in the hold of the aircraft only.
Pets will not be accepted in the passenger cabin accompanied by a passenger on flights to London, Johannesburg, Hong Kong, and Australia. On these flights, pets will be sent in the hold of the aircraft as cargo.
Transporting animals from Moscow is possible only if veterinary authorization permits the animal to fly in the passenger cabin or as Baggage. It is not possible to transport the animal as registered cargo.
The following list of destinations from which it is not possible to fly animals as registered freight: Bangkok, Amsterdam, Boston, Mumbai, Brussels, Larnaca, Frankfurt, Moscow, Munich, Madrid, Berlin, Prague, Warsaw, Toronto, Vienna, Kiev, Budapest and Rome.
Birds and bird eggs (except poultry and their eggs) will not be approved for flights to London unless licensed by the British Ministry of Agriculture.
Taking a pet to a foreign country involves preparation and planning far in advance of your departure date. Requirements for pet travel to a foreign country are set by the destination country. If you are you traveling to another country and bringing along your pet you’ll need to meet the animal health requirements of the country you are visiting.
