The Avianca Airlines pet policy is as follows:
Dogs and cats are accepted in the aircraft cabin.
Pets can weigh up to 10 kilograms and have a maximum height of 20 centimeters.
Only one pet per person may fly.
Pets in the cabin service is not available for flights to and from Europe, as well as for the countries Aruba, Curaçao.
Your pet may travel in the hold of the aircraft if it meets the following requirements:
On flights of up to 4 hours, you can weigh a maximum of 20 kilograms. This weight does not include the weight of the container.
On flights of up to 5 hours, you can weigh a maximum of 10 kilograms. This weight does not include the weight of the container.
Dog and cat breeds known as brachycephalic are not permitted for transport.
Taking a pet to a foreign country involves preparation and planning far in advance of your departure date. Requirements for pet travel to a foreign country are set by the destination country. If you are you traveling to another country and bringing along your pet you’ll need to meet the animal health requirements of the country you are visiting.
