Sanibel Island Beaches include:
Bowman’s Beach Park – Watch for the signs along Sanibel-Captiva Road at mile 4.8 (based on the mile markers along the road). You’ll cross San-Cap and follow Bowman’s Beach Road for 1/10 mile to the parking lot.
Tarpon Bay Road & Beach – Located at the southern end of Tarpon Bay Road, at the intersection of Tarpon Bay Road @ West Gulf. The beach is 8/10 mile south of Periwinkle Way.
Gulfside City Beach Park – From Middle Gulf Drive, watch for the trail heading into a wooded area, which is 0.2 mile from Casa Ybel and 1.1 mile from Fulgur. Follow this path past the cemetery until it meets a paved road, at which point you take a left to the parking lot. From Casa Ybel, watch for the Gulfside Park sign at Algiers. Follow the path south on Algiers. When the path splits from the road and heads into a wooded area, stay on the path for the cemetery and nature trail, or stay on the road for beach access.
Lighthouse Beach Park – Located at the eastern end of Periwinkle Way (and the eastern tip of the island) – just follow Periwinkle to its end, and you’ll be in the parking lot for the lighthouse. Take a left immediately before entering the parking lot, to get to the fishing pier.
The general public beach access points (those without restricted parking) all have restrooms and water.
Dogs on a leash are allowed on all Sanibel beaches. Pets are not allowed on Captiva beaches.
