Fort Myers Beach Town Beaches on Estero Island feature miles of white, sandy beaches along the Gulf of Mexico, where the ocean floor slopes gently towards the horizon with no sudden drop-offs or big waves. The Town of Fort Myers Beach maintains 26 public beach accesses on Estero Island. These are marked and easily accessed from Estero Boulevard. Many of the accesses also have public parking. Dogs on a leash no longer than 6 feet are allowed on the beaches. Dogs must be properly licensed. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. Disposable bags are available at some of the beach accesses for your convenience. Dogs are not permitted in the Little Estero Critical Wildlife Area, which includes all wetlands, beaches and land extending southward from the Holiday Inn to the boundary signs at Mulholland Point.
