OFF-LEASH DOG BEACH. Located at 14436 Bonita Beach Causeway, Bonita Springs, FL 34134, Bonita Dog Beach is just north of Naples and is the only Lee county-owned beach where pets are allowed. It is a small stretch of beach just south of Lovers Key State Park, just west of New Pass Bridge and north of Bonita Beach. During mid to high tides, the beach can only be accessed by wading through water. Dogs are allowed off-leash on the beach. Portable restrooms are available on-site. Open dawn to dusk. Parking is free. Doggie shower station is available to rinse your dog before leaving the park. Directions: Drive past the entrance to the State Park, and watch for a spot on the right just before the next bridge. There are usually a few cars parked off the side of the road, and there is a small sign. Park here, and walk down the path until you get to the beach. No other Lee County beaches allow off-leash dogs; and only the City of Sanibel and the Town of Fort Myers Beach allow dogs on the beach while on-leash.
