Located at 960 Morehouse Hwy, Fairfield, CT 06825, Lake Mohegan and its surrounding open space comprise a total of 170.4 acres off Morehouse Highway. During the summer months, the man made fresh water lake is open to swimmers in a designated area supervised by lifeguards. The large beach is sandy and sunny. There’s little natural shade, so beach umbrellas are a must. Dogs and horses are allowed on the beach only during the off-season, from October 1 to March 31. At all other times dogs and horses are forbidden to enter any town beach, including the parking areas for such beach. When permitted to be on a Town beach, dogs must be leashed at all times.
