Pets on a leash no longer than 6 feet are allowed on all trails at New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. Located in southern West Virginia in the Appalachian Mountains, the park protects and preserves 53 miles of the New River as well as over 70,000 acres of the magnificent gorge that this river created. Pets are not permitted at public ranger programs.
