Located at 650 Mullis St., Friday Harbor, WA 98250, San Juan Island National Historical Park is made up of the sites of the British and U.S. Army camps during the Pig War, a boundary dispute over the ownership of the island. At American Camp, located on the southern tip of San Juan Island, you can visit sites from the 1800s including the parade ground, laundress quarters, and officers quarters. At English Camp, located on Garrison Bay, 9 miles northwest of Friday Harbor, you can visit sites from the Royal Marine era including the parade ground, barracks, blockhouse, commissary, and formal garden. Pets on a leash no longer than 6 feet are allowed in parking lots, picnic areas, roads, and trails.
