Chaco Culture National Historical Park is located in northwestern New Mexico, between Albuquerque and Farmington. The park preserves one of the most important pre-Columbian cultural and historical areas in the U.S. Pets on a leash no longer than 6 feet are allowed in Gallo Campground, and on the backcountry hiking trails (Pueblo Alto, Peñasco Blanco, South Mesa, and Wijiji trails). Pets are not allowed into the principal Chacoan sites (Pueblo Bonito, Chetro Ketl, Casa Rinconada, Pueblo del Arroyo, Hungo Pavi, and Una Vida) located along the Canyon Loop Drive.
