Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Campgrounds offer two rustic drive-in campgrounds where pets are allowed:
Hurricane River Campground (21 sites) – Located 12 miles west of Grand Marais on County Road H-58 on the shores of Lake Superior.
Twelvemile Beach Campground (36 sites) – Located 15 miles west of Grand Marais off Alger County Road H-58.
All campgrounds require a reservation; there is no drop-in camping. Campgrounds are open from May 15 through October 15. Campgrounds do not have electric, water, or sewer hookups. Campsites provide a picnic table, fire ring with grill grate, and tent pad. The campgrounds have vault toilets and well water. Pets on a leash no longer than 6 feet are allowed at two drive-in campgrounds. Pets are not allowed at the Little Beaver Lake Campground due to its proximity to the Beaver Basin Wilderness. Pets are not permitted in the park’s hiking trails, backcountry and backcountry campgrounds/campsites.
