Managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Ma-le’l Dunes Beach – South Unit on Samoa Peninsula is open to the public daily during daylight hours. This land is part of the Ma-le’l Dunes Cooperative Management Area which includes this BLM land and a portion of Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Area. The southern portion of Ma-le’l, managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) allows for dog walking and equestrian use on designated trails. Dogs are allowed only on BLM property and must be leashed in the developed recreation sites (parking/picnic area), otherwise dogs are allowed off-leash but under the owner’s control at all times. No dogs allowed at Ma-le’l Dunes – North.
