Avanti West Coast is a train operating company in the United Kingdom, linking London Euston with the west midlands. It replaced Virgin Trains, offering west coast service to over 50 different stations. From the Bangor and Holyhead, to Edinburgh and Glasgow, and down to London Euston, Birmingham New Street or Manchester Piccadilly. Up to two dogs, cats or other small domestic animals are welcome at no extra cost. For each additional pet, there is a charge of £5. Cats, birds and any other small domesticated animals are all welcome to join you on the trains. All dogs on trains must be kept on a lead at all times unless they’re in a carrier. Dogs without leads, cats, birds and other smaller animals should also be kept in a pet carrier no larger than 85 x 60 x 60 cm. If you have a First Class train ticket, you’re welcome to travel with assistance dogs and well-behaved dogs on leads. Other small animals can also join you in First Class, just so long as they’re in a comfortable carrier with room to stand up.
Taking a pet to a foreign country involves preparation and planning far in advance of your departure date. Requirements for pet travel to a foreign country are set by the destination country. If you are you traveling to another country and bringing along your pet you’ll need to meet the animal health requirements of the country you are visiting.
