Alaska Railroad operates freight and passenger trains in Alaska, extending from Seward and Whittier, in the south of Alaska, to Fairbanks (passing through Anchorage), and beyond to Eielson Air Force Base and Fort Wainwright in the interior of that state. Alaska Railroad Pet Policy: Pets are only permitted onboard in the baggage car, and must be in an airline-approved kennel. At the Spencer Glacier Whistle Stop, kennels may be left next to the train upon disembarkation and picked up upon your return.
Taking a pet to the United States involves preparation and planning far in advance of your departure date. Health certificates may be required for entry into some states; you should check with officials in your state of destination prior to your travel date. Find info on bringing a pet into Alaska.
