Located at 1100 W Ashley Ave, Folly Beach, SC 29439, Folly Beach County Park is on the west end of Folly Island, situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Folly River. It offers beach access with over 4,000 feet of ocean frontage, and includes over 100 acres of highland, 2,000 feet along the Folly River, sand bars and marsh. Skimmer Flats, a major Eastern Brown Pelican rookery, is visible at the west end of the park. Amenities: Boardwalk and handicap-accessible ramp; Lifeguards; Beach chair and umbrella rentals; Dressing areas; Restrooms; Outdoor showers; Picnic area; Snack bar; Beach-accessible wheelchairs. Directions: Entering the island, turn right at Ashley Avenue and then drive until the road ends at the park. Dogs are allowed on beach, but must be kept on a leash at all times. From May 1st to September 30th, dogs are allowed on the beach only before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m. From October 1st through April 30th, dogs are welcome on the beach at all times but must be on a leash and under control.
