Located in Nevada and Arizona, Lake Mead National Recreation Area AZ is in northwestern Arizona and includes Lake Mohave – a reservoir on the Colorado River between the Hoover Dam and Davis Dam in Cottonwood Valley defining the border between Nevada and Arizona. Lake Mead NRA encompasses Lake Mead, Lake Mohave and portions of the Colorado River in the lower Grand Canyon to the north and below Davis Dam to the south. It features water recreation, including boating, swimming, and fishing, on both lakes as well as the stretches of river between the lakes. Dogs on a leash no longer than 6 feet are allowed in developed areas, on hiking trails, along many beaches, and in campgrounds and some lodging facilities. Dogs allowed at the following Arizona beaches:
Willow Beach – Located within the Black Canyon on Lake Mohave.
Princess Cove – Located north of Katherine Landing Developed area on Lake Mohave.
Cabinsite Cove – Located north of Katherine Landing Developed area on Lake Mohave.
North Arizona Telephone Cove – Located north of Katherine Landing Developed area on Lake Mohave.
