Portland Off-Leash Dog Areas allow dogs to be unleashed at the following locations (must be under voice command):
Any city-owned island park area and open space (unless posted otherwise).
Canco Woods
Capisic Pond Park – Capisic St. & Macy St. Portland, ME
East End Beach (day after Labor Day to day before Memorial Day).
Eastern Promenade Park (within the area bounded by the following: Cutter Street to the lower sidewalk to the exit side of the Fort Allen roadway and back to Cutter Street; East End Beach and the mid-slope nature path).
Evergreen Cemetery (to the north and west of Northern Avenue in undeveloped wooded area)
Ocean Avenue Open Space
Pine Grove Park
Portland Arts & Technology School (wood behind at 196 Allen Avenue).
Presumpscot River Preserve
Quarry Run Dog Park
Riverton Trolley Park
Valley Street Park
Baxter Woods (August 1st to March 31st, dogs are permitted under voice control at the following times: from 5 am to 9 am and from 3 pm to 10 pm. From 9 am to 3 pm all dogs must be on an eight foot leash.
There are no dogs allowed on any playfields, school yards, or playgrounds.
