Pets on a leash no longer than 8 feet are allowed in Governor Nelson State Park. Pets are allowed in all areas of the park except buildings, picnic areas, beach areas, and areas posted as pet free. When trails are snow-covered, pets and hiking are allowed only on the Morningside multi-use trail. Picnic tables for visitors with pets are located in a shady area near the boat landing restrooms, and a pet swim area north of the beach/picnic area.
