Colonial Beach Town Beach is located in the northwestern part of Westmoreland County on Virginia’s Northern Neck peninsula. It is bounded by the Potomac River, Monroe Bay and Monroe Creek and is home to the second largest public sand beach in Virginia. Dogs on a leash are allowed on the beach and the boardwalk only during the off-season, from October 1st to April 1st.
