Hilton Head Island Beaches include 12 miles of pristine beaches on the Atlantic Ocean. All of the beach is public, from the ocean to the high water mark. Access to the beach, however, is often private. The Town of Hilton Head Island provides beach accesses at the following locations:
Alder Lane Beach Access – 2 Woodward Ave., Hilton Head Island, SC 29928; off South Forest Beach Drive
Burkes Beach Access – 60 Burkes Beach Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928; off William Hilton Parkway at the end of Burkes Beach Road.
Chaplin Community Park, off of William Hilton Parkway
Coligny Beach Park – 1 Coligny Circle, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928; off Coligny Circle.
Driessen Beach Park – 64 Bradley Beach Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928; off William Hilton Parkway at the end of Bradley Beach Road.
Fish Haul Beach Park – 124 Mitchelville Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926; off Beach City Road.
Folly Field Beach Park – 55 Starfish Drive, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926; off Folly Field Road.
Islanders Beach Park – 94 Folly Field Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928; off William Hilton Parkway.
From the Friday before Memorial Day thru Labor Day, dogs are not permitted on the beach between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Dogs are allowed on leash or under voice control from 5 p.m. to 10 a.m.
From the Tuesday after Labor Day thru September, dogs are allowed on leash from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on leash or under voice control from 5 p.m to 10 a.m.
From October thru March, dogs are allowed on leash or under voice control anytime.
From April thru the Tuesday before Memorial Day, dogs are allowed on leash from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on leash or under voice control from 5 p.m. to 10 a.m.
At Fish Haul Beach Park dogs must be on a leash at all times.
